BMW reveals new Genius programme

BMW has revealed it will introduce a new programme that will help explain some of the advanced technology available in its cars to potential customers.

The scheme is called Genius and will see specialist employees who are up-to-date and fully trained in all the complex technologies and personalisation options on hand to help customers through the ordering, buying, test-driving and hand-over process. They will also be available to help with any after-sales queries.

Geniuses will be there to explain features like BMW’s fuel saving technology EfficientDynamics and ConnectDrive, a system that allows the driver to connect to the internet for real-time traffic information. They will also be able to provide information about all models, from the BMW 1 Series to flagship 7 Series and X6 models.

Tasked with maintaining customer service, a Genius shouldn’t be confused with a salesman as it’s their job to explain every aspect of the car in layman’s terms, not to sell the car. This will mean they are able to help a customer pick the features that will cater to their specific needs and wishes.

Geniuses are currently available at around 30 BMW dealerships, but not yet in Sri Lanka.
