More than half of the vehicles in Sri Lanka consist of Motor Bikes?

53% of vehicle population in Sri Lanka is Motor Bikes?

A recent analysis done by AutoBay.lk reveals that more than 50% of the vehicle population consists of Motor Bikes.

This analysis was based on the Department of Motor Traffic Sri Lanka figures for 2011. 15% of the population was Three-Wheelers and only 10% accounted for Motor Cars, which is around 470,000 in numbers. The total vehicle population in Sri Lanka is around 4.4 million.
